Riga Black Balsam
Riga Black Balsam (Latvian: Rīgas Melnais balzams) is a traditional Latvian herbal liqueur made with many different natural ingredients mixed in pure vodka, giving a 45% abv (90 proof) drink. It can be had as it is, on the rocks or mixed with schnapps, akvavit, or vodka, or warm, in tea, coffee or black currant juice, or mixed with soda water or a soft drink, or in any variety of cocktails. It is also occasionally enjoyed as a topping on ice-cream. The drink itself is black and very bitter, but with a distinct sweetness.

Islandka
The “Islandka” : made in the USSR. $ 3.99 Introduction price. 24.11.10 - 04.12.10
Icelandic herring is the national symbol and linchpin of the economy, and Icelanders are the best fishing and salting experts when it comes to this regal fish. The Icelandic people hand down their gastronomic traditions from generation to generation.
The Kristiansson family, for example, has a secret salting recipe that long ago conquered the enormous – particularly by Icelandic standards – and mysterious expanse of Russia. In the 1960s, the first cargo of Iceland Waters herring in wine sauce arrived in Russia. For thirty years until the 1990s, tins of Icelandic herring disappeared from the shelves almost instantaneously whenever they appeared in undersupplied Soviet stores. In the troubled 1990s, the tradition of serving the famous Kristiansson’s herring at parties and celebrations was swept away, together with many other old traditions, by the relentless surge of unbridled capitalism. But good things always come back. Recently, Jon Kristiansson entrusted his family salting recipe to the Russian sea company. This unique recipe is what makes our Islandka offering a hit with customers, because they cannot find such herring anywhere else.
